Taxonomy
Trichotropis lajollaensis was named by Hanna (1927). Its type specimen is UCMP 30906, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Pyrgulifera lajollaensis by Givens and Kennedy (1979); it was recombined as Pyrgulifera (Pyrgulifera) lajollaensis by Squires (1999).
