Taxonomy
Acdestis maddeni was named by Goin et al. (2003). Its type specimen is MNHN-Pal-Bol-V-4000, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rio Rosario, which is in a Laventan fluvial claystone in Bolivia.
