Taxonomy
Cretiscalpellum obtusum was named by Jagt and Collins (1989). Its type specimen is BMNH In.63628, an other (carina), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CPL quarry, Hallembaye (Vaals Fm), which is in a Campanian marine sandstone in the Vaals Formation of Belgium.
