Etimology. From Greek neos (new).
Taxonomy
Malarossia neos was named by Berezovsky (1999). Its type specimen is Bv-200/3, a valve (Right valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rybal'skiy Quarry, which is in a Priabonian marine sandstone in Ukraine. It is the type species of Malarossia.
