Taxonomy
Scalpellum trilineatum was named by Darwin (1851). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grey Chalk, Dover (Flower collection), which is in a Cenomanian/Cenomanian carbonate chalk in the Zig-Zag Chalk Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Arcoscalpellum trilineatum by Collins (1974); it was recombined as Arcuatoscalpellum trilineatum by Gale (2016).
