Sektensaurus sanjuanboscoi

Taxonomy
Sektensaurus sanjuanboscoi was named by Ibiricu et al. (2019). Its type specimen is UNPSJB-PV 1054, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ephemeral island, Lago Colhué Huapi, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian floodplain sandstone in the Lago Colhué Huapi Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Sektensaurus.

Ibiricu et al. 2019Ornithopod dinosaur diagnosed by the following autapomorphies (1) Well developed lip present in articular surfaces of the dorsal vertebrae, (2) transversally narrow ventral surfaces of the sacral vertebrae, with a keel in thefirst sacral, and wide andwithout keel in the last sacrals (convergent with iguanodontians Camptosaurus and Morelladon); (3) postzygapophyses facets of the fifth sacral vertebra with a thin border; (4) humerus with almost straight distal end, slightly marked incisura; (5) and distal humeral condyles almost equal in size.
