Taxonomy
Membranipora lhuydi was named by Pitt (1976). Its type specimen is BMNH D52494 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Little Coxwell Pit, Faringdon (Pitt collection), which is in an Aptian shoreface gravel in the Faringdon Sand Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Charixa lhuydi by Taylor (1986).
