Spinicharixa dimorpha was named by Taylor (1986). Its type specimen is BMNH D53152a and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Naccolt Brickworks, Nye (cristatum subzone), which is in an Albian marine siliciclastic in the Gault Formation of the United Kingdom.
