Taxonomy
Ptychites embreei was named by Bischof and Lehmann (2020). Its type specimen is GSUB C9453 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is MUC2175, Muller Canyon, Augusta Mountains, which is in an Illyrian marine horizon in the Favret Formation of Nevada.
