Taxonomy
Scyliorhinus destombesi was named by Cappetta (1977). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is St-Pô Farm, between Petit Blanc-Nez and Strouanne, which is in an Albian marine siliciclastic in France.

It was recombined as Cretascyliorhinus destombesi by Underwood and Mitchell (1999) and Guinot et al. (2013).
