Taxonomy
Yunyangosaurus puanensis was named by Dai et al. (2020). Its type specimen is CLGPR v00002, a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Laojun Village, Puan Township, which is in a Toarcian/Aalenian terrestrial siltstone/mudstone in the Xintiangou Formation of China.
