Taxonomy
Paracestracion pectinatus was named by Guinot et al. (2014). Its type specimen is University of Montpellier VAL 156, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mas d’Antrigoule farm, La Cadière-et-Cambo, which is in a Valanginian offshore shelf marl in France.
