Eocetus drazindai
Taxonomy
Basilosaurus drazindai was named by Gingerich et al. (1997). Its type specimen is GSP-UM 3193, a set of vertebrae (one lumbar vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bari Nadi 4, which is in a Bartonian offshore shelf claystone in the Drazinda Formation of Pakistan.
It was recombined as Basiloterus drazindai by Uhen (2002); it was considered a nomen dubium by Uhen (2013); it was recombined as Eocetus drazindai by Gingerich and Zouhri (2015), van Vliet et al. (2019).
