Taxonomy
Ptyktoptychion wadeae was named by Bartholomai (2008). Its type specimen is QMF52601, a tooth (right palatine plate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boree Park near Richmond, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Toolebuc Formation of Australia.
