Taxonomy
Awanites awani was named by Ware and Bucher (2018). It is not extant. Its type specimen is PIMUZ30422. Its type locality is Nammal Nala, LMH-16, which is in a Dienerian carbonate limestone in the Ceratite Marls Formation of Pakistan. It is the type species of Awanites.
