Taxonomy
Temnocheilus augusti was named by von Mojsisovics (1882). It is not extant. Its type locality is Schreyeralm (Geol Reichsanstalt coll), which is in an Illyrian carbonate limestone in the Schreyeralm Formation of Austria.

It was recombined as Mojsvaroceras augusti by Parnes et al. (1985).
