| E. V. Popov et al. 2020 | A chimaerid fish, known by a relatively large man- dibular plate only. Canadodus is distinguished from all other fossil and Recent chimaerids by a unique combination of characters: (1) a whole and large symphyseal tritor of laminated whitlockin with just a tendency toward segmentation occlusally; (2) a small inner tritor of laminated whitlockin; (3) the presence of numerous tiny additional tritors near inner and symphyseal ones; (4) a large median tritor compound in cross-section; (5) a relatively high symphyseal surface; and (6) the absence of solid whitlokin in tri- toral structure. |
