Murphitys michaeli
Taxonomy
Murphitys michaeli was named by Popenoe and Saul (1987). Its type specimen is LACMIP 7264, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4106, Clover Creek, which is in a Santonian marine sandstone in the Redding Formation of California. It is the type species of Murphitys.
