Squatina (Squatina) fortemordeo was named by Siversson et al. (2015). Its type specimen is LO 12013 T, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Åsen, which is in a Campanian coastal sandstone/sandstone in Sweden.
