Taxonomy
Cretalamna catoxodon was named by Siversson et al. (2015). Its type specimen is WAM 09.6.2, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Main Site, CY Creek, which is in a Cenomanian marine siltstone in the Gearle Siltstone Formation of Australia.
