Taxonomy
Heteroterma acrita was named by Saul (1988). Its type specimen is LACMIP 7598, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 2307, Meier Canyon, which is in a Danian/Selandian marine siliciclastic in the Santa Susana Formation of California.
