It was recombined as Proetus stokesii by Murchison (1854); it was recombined as Phaetonides stokesi by Lindström (1885); it was recombined as Warburgella stokesii by Reed (1931); it was recombined as Proetus stokesi by Gillette (1947); it was recombined as Warburgella stokesi by Curtis (1972).
