Taxonomy
Proetus signatus was named by Lindström (1885). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bursvik (B) (=Burgsvik), quarries along coast, which is in a Ludfordian marine sandstone/limestone in the Burgsvik Beds Formation of Sweden.
