Taxonomy
Dechenella (Dechenella) maclareni was named by Ormiston (1967). Its type specimen is GSC No. 18174, an exoskeleton (nearly complete specimen), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Twilight Section, Bathurst Island, Unit 19, Bird Fiord Formation, which is in an Eifelian transition zone/lower shoreface siltstone/shale in the Bird Fiord Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Dechenella maclareni by Norris (1967).
