Zhou et al. 2000Proetinae with conical or ovoid glabella with 3 or 4 pairs of weakly impressed lateral furrows; small, incompletely isolated lateral occipital lobe; no preglabellar field; librigena with genal spine, but without eye socle; pygidium elongated, subtriangular; pygidial axis strongly convex (tr.), with 10 or 11 rings plus a terminal piece and prominent muscle insertion scars on flanks; 8 or 9 pairs of pleural ribs; pygidial border well-defined by shallow border furrow and distinctly widened posteriorly; sculpture granulose or rugulose.
