Taxonomy
Cyrtoproetus (Crassibole) okypete was named by Hahn et al. (1998). Its type specimen is SMF 57752 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Steeden, quarry at north-western margin of the town, which is in a Chadian carbonate limestone in the Erdbach Limestone Formation of Germany.
