Australokaskia (Australokaskia) collina was named by Engel and Morris (1994). Its type specimen is AMF 90295, a cephalon/head (external mould of dorsal shield), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NU L8. Rose Hill Quarry, Booral - Bulahdelah Road, which is in a Visean marine mudstone/siltstone in the Wootton Formation of Australia.

It was recombined as Australokaskia collina by Vanderlaan and Ebach (2015).
