Teleoceratini was named by Hay (1902). It is not extant.
It was reranked as the subtribe Teleoceratina by Antoine et al. (2010).
It was assigned to Rhinocerotinae by Prothero and Schoch (1989) and Cerdeno (1992); to Teleoceratinae by Prothero (1998); to Aceratheriinae by Antoine et al. (2000) and Prothero (2005); to Rhinocerotini by Antoine et al. (2010); and to Rhinocerotidae by Sach and Heizmann (2001), Gustafson (2012) and Short et al. (2019).
It was reranked as the subtribe Teleoceratina by Antoine et al. (2010).
