Taxonomy
Vavilovites meridialis was named by Ware and Bucher (2018). It is not extant. Its type specimen is PIMUZ30883. Its type locality is Mud (Bottom section) LMH-8, which is in a Dienerian carbonate limestone/shale in the Mikin Formation of India.
