---|---|---|
R. R. Schoch et al. 2021 | Autapomorphies: (1) interorbital distance relative to skull length moderately wide (IOW:SL = 0.326); (2) postfrontal, postorbital, and supratemporal with pronounced ridge; (3) parietal small, approximately two-thirds the length of the frontal; and (4) lacrimal laterally constricted by wide maxilla shelf, narrower than alary process of the premaxilla.
Plesiomorphies (contrasting the condition in Platyrhinops lyelli and Amphibamus grandiceps): quadrate and occipital con- dyles level in dorsal perspective, lateral margin of supratemporal straight, postorbital slender and posteriorly pointed, parasphe- noid with a small triangular denticle field, leaving most of the cultriform process edentulous. Features shared with P. lyelli and A. grandiceps: prefrontal and postfrontal sutured, no lateral line sulci. |
