It was recombined as Calamostoma breviculum by Agassiz (1833), Agassiz (1835), Agassiz (1839), Agassiz (1843), Carnevale et al. (2014) and Bannikov (2014); it was synonymized subjectively with Calamostoma lesiniforme by Bannikov and Carnevale (2017).
