Balkaria histiopterygia
Taxonomy
Balkaria histiopterygia was named by Bannikov et al. (2017). Its type specimen is PIN 5314/2, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khieu River, Eocene, which is in a Ypresian marine claystone in the Abazinka Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Balkaria.
