Taxonomy
Misifulgur macneili was named by DeVries (2016). Its type specimen is UWBM 98670,, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is DV 1648-1 [Chilcatay Fm], which is in a Burdigalian coastal sandstone in the Chilcatay Formation of Peru.
