Taxonomy
Monocentris sphaeroides was named by Stinton (1957). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aldinga, Pliocene, which is in a Pliocene coastal horizon in Australia.
It was recombined as Egregioberyx sphaeroides by Schwarzhans (1985).
