Taxonomy
Myctophum tamumuensis was named by Schwarzhans (2019). Its type specimen is SNSB-BSPG XVII 1, an otolith, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tamumu bridge, which is in a Clifdenian/Lillburnian marine mudstone/siltstone in New Zealand.
