Taxonomy
Robertocyathus was named by Rozanov (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-l Cm Boto-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1243]. Its type is Robertocyathus polaris. It is the type genus of Robertocyathidae.

It was assigned to Ajacicyathida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Robertocyathidae by Debrenne et al. (2015).
