Gymnammodytes oranensis
Taxonomy
Gymnammodytes oranensis was named by Carnevale (2004). Its type specimen is MNHN ORA1203 d+g; ORA1203, a partial skeleton ( fragmentary specimen with a well preserved skull; most of the axial skeleton is missing), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tripoli of Gambetta, which is in a Messinian marine limestone in Algeria.
