Taxonomy
Phacoides (Myrtea) taffana was named by Dickerson (1916). It is extant. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 672, Parsons Peak, which is in a Ypresian marine sandstone in the Domengine Formation of California.
It was recombined as Phacoides taffana by Hanna (1927); it was recombined as Myrtea (Myrtea) taffana by Moore (1988).
