Purpura topangensis
Taxonomy
Ocinebra topangensis was named by Arnold (1907). Its type specimen is USNM 164995, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Head of Topanga Canyon (Arnold 1907), which is in a Miocene coastal siliciclastic in the Topanga Canyon Formation of California.
It was recombined as Tritonalia topangensis by Hoots (1931); it was recombined as Purpura topangensis by Loel and Corey (1932); it was recombined as Ocenebra topangensis by Addicott (1970).
