J. Yuan and L.-W. Xiang 1998 | new genus of Cornuproetinae Rud. and E. Richter, 1956 with the following characteristic combination of features: Cranidium moderately vaulted, subquadrate in outline ; glabella plump, subcylindrical to cylindrical in outline, very weakly constricted between r -r , broadly rounded anteriorly, with 3 or 4 pairs of distinct glabellar furrows; occipital furrow deep, with short lateral branches; occipital ring prominent, not narrowing and broadening laterally, with inconspicuous lateral occipital lobes; preglabellar field absent; anterior border furrow deep and broad; anterior border narrow, cushion-like or upturned; palpebral lobe rather small to medium in size; anterior branches of facial sutures long, gently divergent or parallel forward, posterior branches with relatively long straight section c -~ ; r and E. close to the dorsal furrows ; fixed cheek very narrow (tr.); free cheek broad, with longitudinal ridge on cheek area; eye kidney-shaped, eye platform present in front of and behind eye; genal spine very short or absent; pygidium semicircular to semielliptical in outline; axi s long and prominent, with 9-10 well defined axial rings and a short postaxial ridge; pleural areas rather flat adaxially, somewhat concave abaxially, with 7-8 pairs of pleural ribs, of which anterior and posterior bands are equally developed adaxially, and anterior bands are somewhat longer and higher than posterior bands abaxially; pleural furrows deep, interpleural furrows distinct; pygidial border moderately broad, cushion-like, with 5-6 undulated stringlike ridges; sculpture: anastomosing wrinkles and fine closely spaced granules on the surface of the exoskeleton. |
