Taxonomy
Aelurotherium bicuspis was named by Wortman (1901). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Henry's Fork, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.

It was synonymized subjectively with Patriofelis ferox by Matthew (1909), Thorpe (1923), Gazin (1957), Gunnell (1998).
