Taxonomy
Caestocorbula aura was named by Squires and Saul (2004). Its type specimen is CAS 69106.05 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 69106, Roaring River, which is in a Turonian offshore mudstone in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
