Taxonomy
Allomys storeri was named by Tedrow and Korth (1997). Its type locality is Slim Buttes Brule F, which is in a Whitneyan terrestrial horizon in South Dakota. It is the type species of Disallomys.
It was recombined as Disallomys storeri by Korth (2009).
