Omosoma sachelalmae was named by Costa (1857). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sach el Aalma (Costa collection), which is in a Santonian carbonate lime mudstone in Lebanon.
It was corrected as Omosoma sahelalmae by Davis (1887) and Patterson (1964).
