Taxonomy
Harriotta lehmani was named by Werdelin (1986). Its type specimen is MNHN 1946-18-1162, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Sahel Alma (Dubertret collection, MNHN), which is in a Santonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in Lebanon.
