Taxonomy
Pseudoberyx longispina was named by Davis (1887). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Hakel (Lewis collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal carbonate in Lebanon.
It was synonymized subjectively with Clupea bottae by Woodward (1899); it was recombined as Nematonotus longispinus by Hay (1903).
