Taxonomy
Inia boliviensis was named by d'Orbigny (1834). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Inia geoffrensis by Trouessart (1898), Hershkovitz (1966) and Mead and Brownell (2005); it was synonymized subjectively with Inia geoffroyensis by Trouessart (1904); it was recombined as Inia geoffrensis boliviensis by Jefferson (2021).
