Echinorhinus maremagnum
Taxonomy
Echinorhinus maremagnum was named by Bogan et al. (2017). Its type specimen is MPM-PV 10046, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is El Calafate airport, which is in a Maastrichtian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone/conglomerate in the Calafate Formation of Argentina.
It was synonymized subjectively with Echinorhinus lapaoi by Cappetta et al. (2019).
