Discussion
Derivation of name. The specific epithet is after Dr. Ellen "Ellie" Sattler, the fictional character of the Jurassic Park novel and film portrayed by Laura Dern, who contributed to popularizing the role and importance of both palaeobotanists and women for science in general.
Taxonomy
Brachyphyllum sattlerae was named by Batista et al. (2020). Its type specimen is MPSC PL 561, a leaf, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Pedra Branca Quarry (Crato), which is in an Aptian terrestrial lime mudstone in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
