Rajouria gunnelli

Taxonomy
Rajouria gunnelli was named by Rana et al. (2021). Its type specimen is GU/RJ/362, a mandible (left dentary with i3 erupting, dp3, m1-2, trigonid part of m3 and alveoli of i1-2, c, p1-2, and p4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aiji Village, which is in a Lutetian terrestrial siltstone in India. It is the type species of Rajouria.

Rana et al. 2021Medium sized Raoellidae that differs from all the species of the family by marked, individualized paraconid on m1- 2, reduced parastylid on p4, P4 with reduced lingual lobe and low, small protocone with reduced crest pattern; further differs from Khirtharia by lower dentition narrow bucco-lingually; and from Indohyus and Kunmunella by absence of mesio-distal elonga- tion of the premolars.
